What sets BaseCom apart from our larger competitors:
A Single Point of Contact to passionate telecom professionals
BaseCom offers a full spectrum of telecommunications and network engineering services.
Our clients understand a successful telecom project may require:
- Outside plant construction
- Consultants
- Electricians
- Network technicians
- Last-minute equipment substitutions
- Telecom procurement specialists
- Carrier DMARC requirements and acceptance routines
- Multiple contract officers
- Multiple agencies
BaseCom management knows its way among all of the above: we can be your Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for your telecom project. Our in-house expertise and industry relationships mean streamlined project management, cost-competitiveness, complete accountability (no “finger pointing”) and executive accessibility before, during, and after the project.
And with our own call center, network operations center and fast executive support, you and your clients become our long-term partners.
Expert problem solvers because we’re operators, too.
BaseCom’s expertise is delivering creative solutions to difficult telecom problems. Our core executive team has been in the telecom industry for over 100 combined years, and with a wealth of industry contacts, absolutely no job is too complex or multifaceted.
Our experience lets us take a technology-agnostic approach to problem solving: we suggest exactly what suits our clients’ needs and budget rather than what’s easy to sell. This leads to real results for our clients:
- Making use of existing infrastructure rather than building new by our mastery of DSLAM, CMTS, SMF, MMF, or fixed Wireless technologies
- Overlaying the latest WiFi
- Constructing campus-type networks via challenging WAN/LAN VLAN infrastructure requirements
Even though we are a small company, we have the resources to help the client in a hurry–we usually can deliver a complete range of connectivity construction for enterprise networks with the field experience to quote and meet fast lead times.
Fort Knox
Army Lodging Copper Worth its Weight in Gold
Study Area: WAN/LAN construction, DSL, telecom problem solving, outside plant (OSP)
The Opportunity
In many cases, BaseCom has been asked to engineer a network solution at the lowest possible cost while making the best use of a customer’s plant assets. At Fort Knox, BaseCom was asked to provide a broadband network to almost 900 hotel rooms among 20+ buildings.
The Solution
BaseCom recommended a hybrid DSL/fiber solution. When BaseCom suggested it would provide a DSL modem in each room, some of the other Army contractors on base told us it could not be done. They advised that copper cables and their splices feeding each building were too beat up and spliced to provide steady dial tone, much less provide the signal BaseCom would need to provide from a DSLAM.
Fortunately, BaseCom, who at the time already had deep copper telephone cable experience and was installing low-cost carrier-grade DSL it had sourced from a Korean manufacturer was able to work.
As late as 2016, hundreds of these rooms were still running on DSL.
Reliable fixed-price quotes and financing on custom quality work
